Welcome to the Year 6 Bats Class page.
Here you can find information about our Learning Challenge topics as well as what we are learning about in English, Maths and Science.
We are always available so if you have any questions at all then please come and see us after school.
This half term we have PE on Tuesday and Notts County on Thursdays. However we may also do additional PE sessions during the week so it would be a good idea for children to keep their PE kits in school for the week to ensure they always have kit to wear. A reminder that earrings need to be removed for PE or covered with tape if they have been freshly pierced.
PE kit should include plain black shorts or tracksuit bottoms and plain white t-shirts. The children should also bring trainers as we try and get them outside if the weather is good!
Homework will be given out on Fridays and needs to be returned by the following Wednesday. The children will receive English, Maths and Spellings and as always if they have any problems with the homework then they are expected to come and talk to either Miss Foster or Mrs Tomlin before Wednesday.
The children all have logins for the IXL website which enables them to work on maths and SPaG topics. I can check usage of this and monitor problem areas for specific children and give them additional support where required. Mrs Tomlin will also be running an IXL after school club on Thursday.
Homework is an incredibly important part of life in Year 6 as it not only supports the children with their classwork but also enables them to be more prepared for their transition up to secondary school.
