Hello and welcome to our Year 5 blog page!

Here you will be able to keep up to date with all the exciting and interesting activities we will be getting up to over the coming year! This page will be updated regularly so keep checking back to see what we've been getting up to.

PE - Autumn 1

This half-term our PE sessions are on Tuesdays (Swimming) and Thursdays (Notts County). For swimming, girls need to wear full swimming costumes (not bikinis) and boys should wear trunks or swimming shorts that are above the knee and do not have pockets. If children do not bring the correct kit, they will not be able to swim. No earrings or jewellery should be worn and if children require goggles, a letter of permission needs to be brought in that has been signed by a parent.

On Thursdays, the children will take part in sessions ran by the Notts County Football Club. For these sessions, children require a kit that could be appropriate for indoor or outdoor PE. This should consist of a white t-shirt (no brands or logos please), black, blue or grey jogging bottoms or shorts and trainers.

Homework

Homework will be given out on Fridays. Homework is usually a piece of English and Maths work plus spellings for the week. Children will be given spellings that we have looked at the previous week and will be tested on these on a Monday morning. Homework is expected back by the Wednesday of the following week.

Every other half term, the children will be given project homework which sill support the theme of their Learning Challenge topic for that half-term.

Children should also be reading at home every night with a parent, sibling, friend or other adult and also practising their times tables!
