Y3 were so excited to have Notts County in today. We even learnt a few chants! Every single child was delighted to go home with a shirt too!

Would I make a good Egyptian?

Welcome to the start of Spring 1. There is so much to learn and explore this half term that we just can't wait to share with you all! Our central question 'would I make an Egyptian?' will tie in our learning.

 

PE: We will have PE sessions on a Monday afternoon, but please ensure your kits are in school throughout the week as we may have impromptu sessions.

 

Swimming: Tuesday morning 10.30am - 12pm

 

We are also joined by Miss Kirkbright this half term and I know you will all make her feel welcome during her stay in our class.

 

 

Our main drivers are

Science: We will be learning to compare and group different kinds of rocks on the basis of their appearance and simple physical properties. We will describe in simple terms how fossils are formed when things that have lived are trapped within rock. We will recognise that soils are made from rocks and organic matter.

 

History: We will be focusing on the achievements of one of the earliest civilizations (Ancient Egypt)

 

We will also be linking in all of our English sessions on letter writing, instructions on how to prepare for the afterlife and creating information texts/leaflets. The same goes for out Arts, D&T, cooking, music, computing and PE sessions.
