This half term we are starting with reading The Gruffalo in preparation for our trip to Sherwood Pines to search for The Gruffalo. Our learning will be linked to the story through fine motor activities, literacy and creative projects.
In addition to this our maths focus' will be numbers from 10-20, addition and subtraction, sharing and shape.
Other key texts this half term are 'Oliver's Vegetables' where we will be doing some planting and learning how to make sure plants grow. 'Mr Stink' is our whole class book that we share as a text to promote rich vocabulary and understanding a more complicated story. We love challenge in F2!
During the second half of the Summer term we will be reading two books in the Traction Man series by Mini Grey: Traction Man is Here and Traction Man at the Beach. We will then be moving onto the collection of poems, Commotion in the Ocean followed by Tidder. These books all fit with our over arching theme of 'Water'.
In preparation for Year 1, we will be talking a lot about the transition to ensure that the children feel read to move and we will address any worries or concerns they might have. If you have any concerns of your own then please do come and see me. As you know, my door is always open!
PE this half term is on Tuesdays so please make sure your child has PE kit on these days.
