Coding

Coding is the way that a programmer inputs instructions into a computer to make a programs.

Practise being a programmer and giving instructions to a member of your family to draw a house. Remember the instructions need to be clear.

Sometimes coding languages can use symbols instead of full sentences. See examples of coding below.

This week we will continue with coding but designing our own programme including backgrounds and sprites (characters).

Follow the pictures below to support and remember you can watch the videos on Purple Mash to help you. Your activity is set as a 2Do.

When you have opened FreeChimp click on the design button

You can then select the background by clicking on the black TV first and either choose a colour or double click on the ? to select a theme.

To select a Sprite (character) you can select one and drag it to your background.

To then be able to code, you need to exit the design.

Finally, you can begin to tell your sprites what to do. When you are happy, click the play button to see your programme.

I will look forward to seeing your work. Remember to submit it! smiley
