Your computing task for this week has been set for you on Purple Mash. You have until next Monday to complete the task. It is under your '2dos' and you must create a mind map of all the different ways that you communicate to people. Think how we communicate in person and when we are miles away from people.
CHALLENGE- can you think of some old methods of communication before the internet and mobile phones?
Complete the task on purple mash and then hand it in for me to see!
I hope that one of the ways of communicating you noted down was typing/emailing?! Emailing may not be something you have used yet, but you certainly will when you are older. It is a bit like texting but more formal, like sending an electronic letter. You can attach things to your email like pictures or documents for people to view. To write emails quickly and correctly you need to be able to type using a keyboard.
A lot of you wont have laptops but you will have tablets or ipads. If you have either you can have a go at practising your typing skills as we move through this unit.
TASK- log on to purple mash- go onto your to do's- select 2type home row keys. Practise your typing of the home row keys by following the instructions on the screen. Try not to look at the key board as you do it and begin to learn from memory. See what high score you get!
