Welcome to Hedgehogs!
Keep your eyes peeled for fantastic photographs of our exciting learning throughout the year. Each blog page is broken down into half terms, and updated when we begin a new one. The children had a great Autumn term, and have settled into Year 1 really well. Our current class book is George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl. If you have any questions or queries, please don't hesitate to ask Miss Hyde or Mrs Mitchell.
This half term Year 1 have P.E every Monday afternoon, and dance every Tuesday afternoon, so please ensure children have the correct P.E kit in school for these days and it has their name on it.
This half term we are asking the children to create something related to our learning challenge question, 'Where does our food come from?'. This could be a piece of art linked to food, a fact file or a model of your favourite food. In addition to this, we encourage the children to read at home 5 times a week. Their reading diary will need to be returned each day and Miss Hyde will sign it. It is important for the children to read as often as possible as this will help develop their fluency with reading as they progress through the year.
