Monday 15th June

Today we are learning about ordering numbers from 1 to 100. We will start with ordering numbers from the smallest to the biggest (largest).

Remember to look at the tens column first. If they are the same, then move to the ones column.

TO       TO         TO

34         12          84

Ordering from smallest to biggest:

12, 34, 84

12 has the least amount of tens, then 34 and then 84.

Complete the questions below

Tuesday 16th June

Today we are learning how to find one more than a number. This is the same as adding 1 (+1).

You can use the 100 square to help you if you need to.

TO

67  + 1 = 6 or one more than 67 is 68

79 + 1 = 80    or one more than 79 is 80

Use the digit cards below to make your own 2 digit numbers, and find one more than them. Can you challenge yourself and make a 3 digit number?

Wednesday 17th June

Today we are learning how to find one less than a number. This is the same as taking away 1. (-1).

One less than 56 is 55

TO

56 - 1 = 55

You can also find one less by counting back 1.

One less than 30

30 - 1 = 29

Thursday 18th June

Today we are problem solving and reasoning with one more and one less.

To help you find the answer to the problem, find 1 less of different numbers. Then look at which digit changes.

To start with find 1 less than the following numbers:

43, 32, 98, 67, 30, 28, 19, 20, 50

Problem two:

Count the base 10 first to find the number.

Then find one more than that number, what should the answer be?

Can you spot Iqra's mistake?

Friday 19th June

Today we are setting maths challenges. The first two are true or false questions relating to the ordering and finding one more and less than a number.

For more challenges, click on the link below to the BBC Bitesize website. The sum of means adding the numbers together. You will find the answers at the bottom of the website.

If you are finding these tricky, practise your adding and taking away. Remember you can use objects from around your house or draw pictures to help you.

1. 12 + 6 =

2. 10 + 9 =

3. 1 + 1 =

4. 5 + 4 =

5 . 3 + 9 =

6 . 10 + 1 =

7. 8 - 5 =

8. 3 - 1 =
