This week are learning how to use algebra. We begun this unit just before the school closure so there will be some things that are familiar.
Across the week we will be:
Finding a rule
Solving one-step equations
Solving two-step equations
Monday - WALT: find a rule
Follow the link below to the PowerPoint and tasks on finding an algebraic rule. This will look really familiar as they are similar to the questions we looked at before school closed.
Tuesday - WALT: form equations
Follow the link below to BBC Bitesize and watch the video on forming equations then complete the tasks below. Remember, you can use IXL for some additional practise.
Wednesday - WALT: use substitution to find the values of variables
The link below takes you to the BBC Bitesize page on using substitution. You can then click on the documents below to have a go yourself.
Thursday - WALT: solve simple one-step equations
Use the knowledge you have built upon this week to solve the questions in the documents below.
Today is problem solving day! The problems include a mixture of different skills and are designed to suit everyone in the class so some are simple and some are more complicated.
Have a go at creating your own problems, send them in and I'll set them for the children at school as part of our lesson.
