Activities linked to wider curriculum

Art and craft challenge

Can you create flowers/plants using old egg boxes or other recycling pieces?

Food art

Can you help your grown up with some chopping or prepping of food? Can you use the food to make a picture and take a photo of it before you use it for your meal?

Have you used healthy food? Why is it healthy or unhealthy? How many colours have you used?

Scrapbook challenge

Can you take/draw pictures of what you have been doing while you have been at home? It doesn't have to be work you have done - have you played a fun game? Been for a walk somewhere? Keep adding to it over the next few weeks so that you can show it to us when we are all back together :)

Physical development - fine and gross motor skills

PE with Joe is great for gross motor skills and keeping fit!

If your child isn't so keen or finds Joe Wicks' sessions tricky, why not try this instead?

We do cosmic yoga on Fridays and it is fun storytelling within a calming yoga session! The children particularly loved the Fairy Floss episode - possibly so that could laugh at Miss Ellis' attempts at the floss!

Fine and gross motor checklist -

how many of these activities can you complete on your own each week? You could even try and complete them before a timer runs out!

  • do/undo buttons (on a shirt maybe)
  • zip/unzip your coat
  • tie your shoelaces (super tricky!)
  • write your name
  • use a knife and fork
  • cut something interesting out of an old magazine
  • hop from one side of the room to the other
  • get dressed/get ready for bed
