Mother's Day Breakfast for Yrs 1-6

Thursday 19th March and Friday 20th March from 8:30.

Please ensure all slips are handed back into the school office by Thursday 12th March as stated on the letter sent out last Thursday. Unfortunately we cannot accept any forms after this date as the Kitchen staff have to order the food in. Parents that have already handed in their slips will receive an official invite card this Friday.

World Book Day 2020

Reception and KS1 had an amazing diamond reward trip to see The Snow Dragon at Lakeside Arts theatre. They even had a play on the park too!

On 4th December 2019... we had our annual Christmas Fair. We hope you enjoyed yourselves!

Open evening for prospective Reception age pupils starting in September 2020

From 3:30pm

 

We are hosting an open evening for new parents of pupils that will be applying for school places in Reception starting in September 2020. Staff will be on hand to give you a tour of our school and answer any questions you may have. No booking required.

 

If your child currently attends our nursery you do not need to attend.

14th May 2019 - Ofsted

 

We will be opening our doors as Ofsted visit us on site all day tomorrow. We are looking forward to sharing all of the things that make Westglade so great!

Christmas raffle tickets are still on sale - £1.00 per strip. Tickets will be on sale at break times. Children in KS1 and nursery can hand money and how many tickets they would like to members of staff and they will ensure you get your tickets

We had a great staff meeting on Wednesday for Mastery in Maths. Lots of great ideas about breaking learning down to enable all to achieve. Thanks!

This menu will be available for the children next week (W/B 01/10/2018)

Reminder that school meals are free for children in Butterflies, Hedgehogs, Kingfishers and for any children entitled to income based free school meals.

Price list for school meals:

Bees (Nursery) £9.25 per week

Lynxes, Wolves, Otters, Magpies, Owls and Bats £10.25 per week.

New school meal menu

 

Reminder school meals are free for children in Sparrows, Butterflies, Foxes and Woodpeckers.

 

School meals for nursery children are £9.25 per week.

 

Meals for children in Kestrels, Robins, Falcons, Owls and Bats cost £10.25 per week.

 

If you feel that you may be entitled to income based free school meals, please come to the school office to fill out a form

We have had a wonderful Spanish themed day. Thank you for getting involved!

Decorate an Easter egg competition

What a wonderful (belated) World Book Day we have had, with lots of exciting activities across school!

World Book Day has been re-arranged for this Thursday (8th March) and we can't wait to see all your wonderful outfits and hear all about your favourite books!

Closed due to adverse weather conditions 1st and 2nd March. World Book Day will be re-arranged :)

What an honour it has been to host Jaz Ampaw-Farr. Not a dry eye in the house. What an incredible feeling in the room of feeling inspired, positive and ready for any challenge. Being resilient and an every day hero!

Westglade After School Dance Club entered a dance competition at Ellis Guildford School run by Sports School Nottingham on Tuesday 13th February. Westglade Dancers performed a brilliant dance. They shared their experience in a school assembly on Thursday 15th February.

A big thank you to the Dog's Trust who have been working with us on responsible dog ownership. (24.01.18)

An amazing Gold Book assembly today celebrating achievements.

Y3 were so excited to have Notts County in today. We even learnt a few chants! Every single child was delighted to go home with a shirt too!

17th Friday December - Gold book in our PJs for Children in Need

A big thank you to Dog's Trust for coming in and running sessions across school!

Thank you very much to our second group of our MAD (Make a difference) students who have been running sessions on remembrance this week.

Next Friday (17th Nov) we will be dressing up for Children In Need. Your children can take part by donning their PJs or onesies for the day. (suggested donation of 50p)

We have had the pleasure of welcoming 6 teaching students this week for their 'MAD' (Make a difference) project. The children have loved the drama, art, poetry and rapping linked to Growth Mindset

Notts County FITC have been getting our Year 6s active in their sessions.

On 19th of September our baking club (with children and parents) began...

On the 1st September we had a lovely whole school picnic on the field.

Year 4 have had a fantastic clarinet performance to parents this afternoon and we are all very proud.

Parents and children have been enjoying our NCN run Science sessions.

Spanish Themed Day 20th June. Children can come dressed in red, yellow, black or dresses/Spanish outfits. Lots of exciting activities happenign across school!

Sainsbury's School Games - Friday 26th May 2017 from 1pm. Come and join us, nursery side gate open from 1pm

Our clubs continue to go from strength to strength. Check out what our Science club have been getting up to!

Active Kids vouchers can still be donated until 30 June. Every voucher counts towards new cooking and sports equipment, and experiences.

NSPCC Y4, 5 & 6

Today, we were visited by the NSPCC and learnt about speaking out of something was bothering us.  We heard about Childline: how to call them and what kind of help we could get from them.  You may notice that we are wearing green instead of our usual uniform - this is because we are raising money for this important charity.

 

Our school fair raised an impressive £1,189.25
