Monday 15th June

 

Read the sentences below. Can you spot any spelling mistakes? Do you know how they should be spelt? Some of the words spelt incorrectly may sound the same as what the correct spellings are they just need to be spelt differently e.g. there = they're.

 

Identify the spelling mistakes and re-write the sentences with the correct spellings. 

 

Max's mum said that there just playing in the garden. 

 

It was they're turn to throw the ball. 

 

You was supposed to be going to the party.

Tuesday 16th June

 

Today we will be looking at prefixes. Do you know what a prefix is? A prefix is a group of letters places before a word. The opposite the suffixes which we were learning about before! Adding the prefix can change the word's meaning.

Wednesday 17th June

 

Recap what you've learned about prefixes from yesterday. Remember that a prefix is a group of letters that can be placed at the start of a word to change it's meaning.

e.g. agree = disagree

 

How many words can you think of with the prefix:

 

Sub                      inter                     super                        anti                         auto

 

e.g. freeze = antifreeze

Define any new words you aren't sure of.

Using your knowledge of prefixes, have a look at these below and see what words you can create. Extra point if you can give a definition!
