This activity is aimed to stretch your English skills further!
Today we will be editing writing to create a different effect to the reader. We need to recap what adjectives, adverbs and verbs are. Can you remember what they are?
Adjectives
An adjective is a word that describes a noun (the name of a thing or a place).
'It was a terrible book.'
• The word 'terrible' is an adjective. It tells us what the book (the noun) was like.
Verbs
A verb is a word used to describe an action, state or occurrence.
Verbs can be used to describe an action, that’s doing something. For example, like the word ‘jumping’ in this sentence:
The rabbit was jumping in the field.
