Create a character profile for the boy. Based on what his behaviour and actions are like try to determine what his character is like. Use adjectives and phrases to describe him. You can do this in a mind map with 'The boy' in the middle. This will help you over the next few days.
Create a picture map/ story board for the story. This will help you to break up the film into its main parts. Underneath each picture write a few key words to describe what’s happening or perhaps some speech to decide what’s being said.
Create a before and after table detailing how the boy felt and why, both before and after the puppy’s arrival.
Rewrite the story from the video in the third person so you are the narrator telling the story. You may give the characters names if you like. Make sure you set the scene in your opening paragraph and add lots of description about who the boy was and what he was like before the present came.
Use the video and the storyboard you made to remind you of the key parts to include. Use your impressive vocabulary throughout, especially to describe emotions and feelings. You will need to use speech marks for when the boy or mum are speaking “ “
Remember your super neat handwriting and have a go at sounding spellings out or go and look them up in a dictionary/google!
