Today we will be looking at suffixes. Can you remember what a suffix is? A suffix is a letter or group of letters that can be added to the end of a word to change its meaning.
e.g. the suffix 'sion' can can be used to change the word explode to explosion.
Follow the link below to today's BBC Bitesize lesson on the suffixes 'sion' and 'ous'. Watch the video and complete the activities.
Now have a go at the worksheet below on the suffix 'ous'. Once the words are converted, try putting them into sentences e.g. 'The are was extremely hazardous and dangerous to enter'.
Tuesday 2nd June
Today we will be writing a description on one of the Ancient Greeks most famous Gods called 'Poseidon'. Have you heard of Poseidon before? Do you know what he was the God of and what he looked like? Read the text below to learn more.
Using the text and researching more information on Poseidon, write a detailed description of this Greek God.
Things to include:
- ambitious vocab such as powerful, dominant
- correct punctuation
- descriptive language

Well done on those Poseidon descriptions yesterday! Today you can choose any Greek God to focus a description on. Your job is to research Greek Gods, pick one you find interesting and write your own description on them. Don't forget to include ambitious vocab, descriptive vocab, correct punctuation and conjunctions. Here is a link to some information on Greek Gods to help start your research:

Thursday 4th June
Today have a go at creating your own Greek God and writing a description for it! Think about the powers and traits the Greek Gods had and what they were Gods of. Think about what kind of God you'd like to be of and what powers and traits they might have. Use your imagination to the limits! Once you've chosen, write a detailed description and if you can draw a picture of what your God looks like. Use the format below to help if you'd like but feel free to add as much as you'd like as I know we have some super writers in year 4!
