Writing

As we started off the year reading 'The Day the Crayons Quit', I thought it would be nice to finish this year with 'The Day the Crayons Came Home'.

Watch the video below to have the story read to you.

The Day the Crayons Came Home by Drew Daywalt

Monday

Today we are going to practise using the conjunction 'because'. Choose 3 colours from the crayons in the book and write how they now feel. Use because to explain why they feel that way.

Pea Green Crayon was upset because no one likes pea green.

Tuesday

Today we would like you to write a letter to your favourite crayon. Why are they your favourite crayon? How are you going to help them? What would you draw and colour with this particular crayon?

Wednesday

Choose your favourite colour, it could be a different one from earlier in the week if you have more than one. How many different things can you find in your house that are that colour?

Write a list using your phonics to support your spelling.
