Welcome F2!

If you are starting school (F2 also known as Reception) this is the section for you! Our class is called Caterpillars and the teacher in F2 this year is Mrs Vincent. 

We also have Mrs Holmes, Mrs Fearn an Miss Mason who work with us in class.

How can I support my child at home in F2?

Working alongside parents is vitally important in ensuring children get the best they can out of school and ensures that children make maximum progress in their learning. 

In the first two weeks, children will be given a reading book and diary tailored to their current level. We ask that parents/carers read this book with their child at least 3 times a week at home. You will also be provided with a sound mat where the children can also practise learning their sounds. Having a secure knowledge of the sounds we learn in our phonics programme is vital to enable children to go on and become readers. 

In maths, we focus on a solid, mastery approach on numbers to 10 primarily. This includes number recognition to 10, counting to 10 and ordering to 10 alongside representations of numbers to 10.
