Dyson Design Box
Some of our Year 5 and 6 children enjoyed taking part in a secret mission to be design engineers and to explore what was inside the design box sent by Dyson. They had to assemble the parts of the Dyson humidifier fan by working collaboratively and then explore its features. They looked at the purpose for the fan being built, how it had been designed and why and evaluated its features against what they thought the design criteria would be. The children were fascinated and it demonstrated that designing for a purpose can shape the future and it pushed your imagination to solve real and relevant problems. Look out James Dyson – our Westglade children are going to be the design engineers of the future!
